Exus Coronavirus Update

Posted On

Dear Valued Exus Customers

We hope all of you are well and your business and personal lives are not affected significantly due to the effects of the coronavirus COVID-19.

We are happy to provide this update regarding current and future orders placed with Exus Shutters.

First, a recap:

For any customers that do not know, the Country of China and most other Asian Countries celebrate their Chinese or “Lunar” New Year towards the end of January, or early February each year. This holiday means the closing of all businesses for a period of two to three weeks. We, as most of you, are very accustomed to this holiday and begin sending cutoff notifications months in advance to allow you to prepare. This year was to be a very short closing which was to last only two weeks. Shortly after the holiday, all employees were expected to have returned from the many provinces, townships, and cities that they would have traveled to for the holiday and report back to work.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus was detected in several different locations across China during the holiday. Most events, parades, and festivals were cancelled. Travel restrictions were imposed with the closure of all public transportation. Roadblocks were set to discourage travel and eliminate the transfer of the virus from one area to another. A pretty bad situation for thousands upon thousands of people who became stranded and could not return to their normal homes and places of work.

Our factory is Sumo Window Decoration Company and is located in Anji, China. Fortunately this is hundreds of miles away from the center of the outbreak of the virus. To date, there have been no reports of infection in the city of Anji. None of our employees have been directly affected and with the permission of the Chinese Government, they have been granted permission to travel back to Anji and return to work.

Our office staff returned on February 3rd and was able to resume the processes necessary for the factory to produce orders. Factory workers began returning to work on February 17th and we officially resumed production on February 19th. Today, we are at approximately 95% capacity in terms of employee return and output of orders.

We have a tremendous backlog of orders to catch up with, but rest assured, our employees are working nearly around the clock in various shifts seven days per week. We have loaded and shipped 3 full containers already this week and the momentum will increase next week and beyond.

We anticipate that it will take 30 days to get to normal quoted delivery times. Also, please note that we are unable to cancel any order which has been sent to the factory for production. Please be patient, we are all working hard for you.

Please check our ePIC system for container numbers and ETA dates which are entered into the “order comments” section of each order once that order is packed and loaded onto a container.

We would like to thank you for your understanding in this matter.
